The Technology Specialist will assist the Head Coach, Associate Head Coach, two Assistant Coaches and Operations Specialist with armory duties. These will include equipment control, repairs before and during competitions, and overall fencing equipment management. The Technology Specialist will work with the Operations Specialist in the ordering, inventory and distribution of fencing equipment. The Technology Specialist will be responsible for other duties involving the preparation of the field of play for practice and competitions, the maintenance of equipment, and all other technology-related aspects of the fencing program. The varsity fencing team consists of both the men’s and women’s programs, with approximately 60 student-athletes participating.

The Technology Specialist will

Maintain and repair student-athletes’ personal equipment to keep electronic and electrical norms for proper functioning of the electronic machines; consult with the Operations Specialist on ordering necessary parts for broken equipment; blades and weapon parts inventory and management; uniform and equipment inventory and management. Check student-athletes’ equipment for safety and electronic requirements.

Assist with preparing the field for practice and tear down the field when University events require; prepare the scoring equipment for use in practice/competition.

Assist with fencing events hosted at Notre Dame, including varsity competitions (i.e. layout/setup, armory, etc.), summer camps/clinics, and any other fencing events.

Assist the Head Coach and Operations Specialist with special projects as directed (such as creation of donor appreciation gifts)
